Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Breen Construction. As a seasoned professional, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of construction projects, from residential to commercial and special structures.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist in the construction of steel portal buildings, constructing and supplying buildings throughout the Lower South Island
- Work on various construction projects, including residential, commercial, high-end architectural, and civil construction sites
- Perform tasks such as concrete work, framing, hardware installation, insulation, joinery, siteworks, trims and finishing, windows and doors, erecting walls, building stairs, or precision tasks like repairing furniture or installing cabinets, trim, and moulding
- Erect steel structures, and assist with excavations, demolition work, precast erection, reinforcing steel, and roof framing

What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a carpenter (LBP or trade qualified preferred)
- Hands-on building experience, knowledge of building methods and materials
- Skilled in finishing and fit-out work, able to interpret technical drawings and plans
- Effective time management skills, including prioritising work and meeting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Able to work outdoors, at heights, and physically fit (lifting up to 25kgs)
- A full driver's licence or working towards one
