We are Lakeland Steel Ltd, a leading provider of engineering and design services in New Zealand. For over 43 years, we have been passionate about delivering quality products and service to our clients across various industries including sawmilling, materials handling, scrap metal, fertiliser suppliers and the tourism industries.

As a Steel Precut/Plasma Operator, you will play a crucial role in our fabrication workshops, operating CNC bandsaws, profile cutter and Beamline to produce high-quality products.

You will also be responsible for unloading trucks using a fork hoist, T Lift and gantry crane, checking of inwards goods, handling and storing materials, and maintaining accuracy and consistency in systems and processes.

Requirements:
  1. Prior experience working in a steel precut operation is highly desirable
  2. A mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify when machine maintenance is required
  3. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork
  4. Able to pass a drug and alcohol test and provide employment references
  5. Experience running a profile cutter and Beamline would be an asset
