Job Summary
The Auckland Council's Botanic Gardens are seeking a highly motivated Horticultural Apprentice to join their team. In this role, you will develop your skills and knowledge in horticulture while working on a range of projects, including garden maintenance, plant conservation, and education programs. Main Tasks
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of horticultural projects.
  • Assist with garden maintenance, including pruning, planting, and mulching.
  • Help design and deliver educational programs for visitors and community groups.
  • Collaborate with experienced horticulturists to ensure project success.
  • Develop skills in machinery operation and maintenance.

Key Requirements
  • NCEA Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Horticultural experience or training preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
