Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to cover one of our GPs for a minimum of 8 weeks (preference 10 weeks). The successful candidate will provide primary care services within a multidisciplinary team, working closely with the Clinical Lead/Senior GP and Nursing team to offer clinical guidance, assistance, education, and support.

  • Provide patient-centered care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, with clear communication and education.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, mentoring and supporting colleagues where needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Medical Council NZ regulations and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and adopt evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Commit to continuing education to stay updated on medical advancement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
  • General Practice qualifications.
  • New Zealand registered.
  • Fully registered medical practitioner with a current Annual Practicing Certificate from the Medical Council of NZ.
  • Current membership of a professional liabilities insurance group (e.g., Medical Protection Society or Medical Defence Union).
