Emergency Management Expertise
Ara Poutama Aotearoa is seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Management Expert to join our team as a Senior Adviser Emergency Management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering emergency management systems, processes, and frameworks for the Auckland, Northland, and Waikato regions.

About the Role
This is a senior-level position that requires a high level of expertise in emergency management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our staff are confident and competent to respond to incidents and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency management plans, procedures, and guidelines
- Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and deliver training programs and exercises
- Represent the department in collaborative emergency management groups

Requirements
- Solid experience in emergency management, particularly in complex operational environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make good decisions under pressure
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience writing and running desktop exercises for inter-agency response scenarios
- Qualified in Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) Level 4
- Desirable: experience delivering CIMS training, holding a university degree in Emergency Management or other relevant discipline, and experience in response coordination systems
