Senior Policy Advisor: Help Shape New Zealand's Economic Growth as a Key Team Member

Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to join our Economic Strategy & Insights team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). As a key member of our team, you'll contribute to developing economic advice that informs Government decision-making. You'll work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges, and provide expert analysis and advice on complex policy issues.

About the Team

The Economic Strategy & Insights team is responsible for providing economic advice to the Government on a range of issues, including economic growth, productivity, and international trade. We work closely with other teams within MBIE, as well as with partner agencies and stakeholders, to develop and implement policies that drive economic growth and improve New Zealand's economic performance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Apply economic or strategic frameworks to inform policy decisions
  • Develop and lead projects that drive economic growth and productivity
  • Brief and advise Ministers and senior officials on economic matters
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges

What You'll Need

  • Experience applying economic or strategic frameworks to policy issues
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Possession of a strong stakeholder relationship and networking skills
