Teaching and Research at University of Otago
At the University of Otago, we are committed to excellence in teacher education. As a lecturer or senior lecturer in our College of Education, you will have the opportunity to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Initial Teacher Education and Education Studies papers. If appointed as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will also supervise postgraduate research students and develop your own programme of research.

Collaboration and Partnership
As a member of our academic team, you will be expected to develop collaborative working relationships with colleagues and support the University's Maori, Pacific, and Sustainability strategic frameworks. You will also be actively involved in the recruitment of new research students and applying for external research funding.
Appointment Requirements
- A PhD degree for the role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer
- New Zealand teacher registration and a current full practising certificate are desirable
- Relevant research experience and a corresponding publication record
- A Master's degree for the role of Senior Professional Practice Fellow
- A relevant professional qualification in teaching
- New Zealand teacher registration and current full practising certificate
- Relevant professional experience in English, bilingual and/or Maori medium education
