About the Role

As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping to keep our staff engaged, informed and inspired. You will be responsible for developing and executing communications projects and plans, and leading University-wide communications for projects and initiatives where required.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Effective Communication: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage key internal and external audiences through AUT's internal communications channels.
  2. Project Management: Manage and execute communications projects and plans, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders from teams and departments across the University.
  4. Reputation Enhancement: Advance the use of multi-media communications channels to enhance AUT's reputation, improve newsworthiness, and amplify stories and content.
  5. Support and Advice: Provide advice and support to staff who produce internal communications.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A university degree in Communications or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with developing and delivering internal and external communications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NZ media scene and how the media works.
  • Experience with relationship management and networking.
