About Auckland Council
Auckland Council is a local government agency responsible for providing engineering expertise to Building and Resource Consenting teams, ensuring the design suitability and adequacy of construction on site for new infrastructure being constructed.
We work closely with asset owners including Auckland Transport, Watercare, Healthy Waters, and Parks to ensure Auckland's growth and development will be safe. Our team of 10 Development Engineers provides technical advice and ensures compliance with legal and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess applications and evaluate Engineering Plan Approvals in accordance with the Resource Management Act, Building Act, Bylaws, Unitary Plan, and Council's engineering standards.
- Draft consent conditions and conduct site inspections to verify compliance and asset quality.
- Review Resource and Building Consent applications, ensuring all necessary information is provided before subdivision approval.
- Maintain accurate records in SAP and update timesheets.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in civil engineering.
- Experience in land development market/civil engineering.
- Understanding and knowledge of Resource Management, Building, and Local Government Legislation.
- Ability to improve consent processes and enhance efficiency.
