We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Grafton. As a key member of our round-the-clock engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems across hospital facilities.

This is a contract role with an immediate start, running through to at least October 2025 working 12-hour rotating shifts (4 days on, 3 days off) – alternating weekly between day and night shifts.

The Role
  • Operate within a 4-on, 3-off shift roster (day/night alternation weekly)
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain major plant systems including boilers, HVAC systems, chillers, emergency generators, and power systems
  • Ensure continuity and compliance with electricity, gas, water, and medical gas supply systems
  • Monitor service provider activity to ensure minimal disruption and safety compliance
  • Oversee subcontractor work standards and manage safe working practices
  • Maintain accurate records and carry out thorough shift handovers

We are seeking someone who thrives under pressure, has a solid foundation in engineering systems, and is committed to delivering high standards of service in a healthcare setting.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering plant maintenance
  • Strong all-round engineering knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety systems and practices
  • 10–15 years marine, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience, ideally with HVAC systems
  • CIMS (Coordinated Incident Management System) training
  • Experience managing and issuing work permits
