About the Service

The Intellectual Disability Service at Wakari Hospital provides comprehensive care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. Our service includes three main components: Ward 10a – a 12-bed inpatient service, Helensburgh Cottage – a 4-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, and the Community Liaison Team. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Mental Health Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and Psychiatrists.

About the Team

The Community Liaison Team plays a crucial role in supporting and rehabilitating care recipients in the community. As a Clinical Psychologist on this team, you will be responsible for conducting home visits, assessing client needs, and developing personalized treatment plans. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with families and carers will be essential in this role.

You will also contribute to the development of new programs and services that meet the evolving needs of our clients and their families. If you are passionate about delivering person-centered care and have a commitment to excellence, we encourage you to apply.
