Salary Range

$120,870.00 - $150,416.00 per annum.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Lawyer to join our team, providing legal expertise and skills to deliver quality legal services to the Ministry. The successful candidate will provide legal advice to senior managers on operational, public law and corporate issues, identifying legal risk and ensuring we meet our obligations to better outcomes for disabled people.

As a Senior Lawyer, you will have the opportunity to diversify your skill set in different areas such as public, litigation and procurement and contract law. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve fair resolutions and provide coaching and upskilling to others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice to senior managers on operational, public law and corporate issues
  • Identifying legal risk and ensuring compliance with obligations
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve service delivery
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve fair resolutions
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of public sector legal issues relevant to the Ministry's business
  • Previous experience providing quality legal services to clients, including anticipating client needs and communicating effectively
  • Previous experience coaching and upskilling others
  • Proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively towards fair resolutions
