Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our Generation team. This exciting opportunity involves managing procurement activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in purchasing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and procurement teams to align purchasing with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor purchase requisitions for accuracy, approval workflows, and compliance with procurement policies
• Ensure procurement activities align with established supplier panels and category strategies
• Maintain documentation and records to support audit and compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation within assigned categories
• Collaborate with internal teams, including maintenance, operations, and finance, to understand procurement needs
• Support initiatives for automation, digital tools, and enhance procurement and purchasing practices

Requirements:

• Relevant buying experience in an Operational, Manufacturing or Maintenance environment
• Proven experience in purchasing and procurement environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and implement actionable strategies
• Excellent organisational and project management abilities with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively
• Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Knowledge of purchasing best practices, forecasting techniques, and supply chain principles
