The Role of a Care and Support Specialist

A Care and Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals with various aspects of daily life, enabling them to do things they enjoy such as going swimming, personal care, meal support, household management tasks, and teaching life skills. This diverse range of responsibilities includes supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.

Your Benefits

You will receive competitive pay rates between $23.38 up to $29.10 per hour, enjoy a variety of shifts, and earn while you learn with free training towards NZQA Health & Wellbeing. Additionally, you will have access to an Employee Assistance program service anytime you need health and wellbeing support, and be eligible for a 'Refer a friend' Bonus.

What We're Looking For

We seek individuals who are passionate about helping others, kind, understanding, and respectful. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviors, is preferred. A full driver's license is essential. We value flexibility, empathy, and cultural awareness, as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have the initiative to push individuals towards their goals, be energetic and outgoing, and able to think outside the box. You must be respectful of others' thinking and way of living life, which may be different from your own. Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends, is also required.
