We are the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), a government agency dedicated to supporting the growth and development of New Zealand's primary industries. Our team is passionate about making a positive impact on the environment and communities through high-quality policy advice and support to the Government, farmers, and other stakeholders in the primary sector.

We are currently seeking two experienced Senior Policy Analysts to join our team. One will be working on the Animal Sector Policy team, focusing on the dairy industry, while the other will be part of the Forestry Sector Policy team, leading policy development for forestry regulation settings and climate goals.

The successful candidates will have a strong background in economic policy analysis and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. They will work closely with teams across MPI, other Government agencies, and industry organizations to develop and implement policies that support the growth and sustainability of New Zealand's primary industries.

The key requirements for this role include a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Senior Policy Analyst or in a similar role, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across MPI, other Government agencies, and industry.
