The Role:

You will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the technical aspects of multiple projects across the Central Otago region.

Working closely with the Managing Directors and a talented project team, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Managing project schedules, preparing tender packages, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitoring costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that projects stay on track without compromising on quality.
  • Technical Support and Guidance: Providing engineering expertise, solving complex technical issues, and ensuring that project specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and effective project execution.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Promoting and enforcing health and safety standards on site, ensuring projects comply with all relevant regulations.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong engineering background, with proven experience in a project engineering role within civil construction, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
  • Technical expertise, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Project management skills, with experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
  • Cost control experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage costs and track project finances accurately.
  • Problem-solving ability, with strong analytical skills to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
  • Health & Safety knowledge, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • NZ Residency or Work Visa: Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • NZ Licenses (bonus): Class 1-4 + WTR preferred.
