About the Role
">- The Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki, is seeking a Social Worker to join our team in Epuni. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in developing and leading a therapeutic care approach that ensures the safety, dignity, and rights of rangatahi are upheld.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major transformation in residential care, with a focus on enhancing the experiences of rangatahi and staff. We are committed to providing comprehensive, proactive care and support to rangatahi during their stay and as they transition back into the community.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a therapeutic care approach that meets the needs of rangatahi.
- Work collaboratively with Residential Youth Workers to ensure the delivery of necessary services.
- Significantly improve the lives of rangatahi by providing proactive, comprehensive care and support.
- Be actively involved in the daily operations of the residence, working closely with rangatahi to develop insights into their needs and preferences.
- Liaise with mental health services within the community.
You Will Be Successful If You
- Have a recognised Social Work qualification from the Social Worker Registration Board (SWRB).
- Are registered with New Zealand's Social Worker Registration Board and hold an annual practicing certificate.
- Have a passion for working with rangatahi, especially those of Māori descent.
- Can demonstrate skills and experience in successfully working as a member of a team.
- Have resilience, critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques.
- Hold a valid and clean New Zealand driver's licence.
- Are able to work a roster pattern that includes evenings and weekends.
