**Surgical Registrar Role Overview**

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Surgical Registrar to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern. As a key member of our surgical department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, participating in teaching and mentorship, and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Delivering surgical care to patients in a tertiary level hospital setting, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team
  • Participating in and facilitating teaching, assessment, and mentorship of medical students, aligning with the University of Otago's academic goals
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring best practice standards are met

**Requirements:**

  • Eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in surgery or contributing to your existing medical specialty
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment, prioritising tasks and managing competing demands
