About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide specialist social work assessment and planned intervention within the acute inpatient wards at Dunedin Hospital. This role will primarily cover the Psychogeriatric ward - 6C and provide regular support for other areas as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and assist in their journey through the hospital.
• Provide a sound knowledge of elder abuse, family violence, and child protection issues and be able to respond to challenging situations appropriately.
• Think on your feet, work under pressure, and multitask effectively.
• Work cohesively as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and demonstrate strong understanding of social determinants of health.
