We are excited to introduce our Central Regional Forensic Service, which provides mental health care to the local and regional men's and women's prisons and youth offending units. Our teams deliver court liaison services to adult and youth courts, offering care for people who require supervision and support by virtue of their status as Special Patients or who have ongoing need for forensic community support.

Job Description

We are seeking a Psychiatric Care Provider to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or hold an equivalent qualification, enabling you to qualify for registration with MCNZ. Specialty training in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Deliver high-quality mental health care to adults and youth in our service
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet individual patient needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team environment

We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital in Lower Hutt and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.
