Salary Information

The successful candidate will be remunerated according to the ASMS Senior Medical and Dental Officers SECA, Medical and Dental Specialist Scale ($185,380-$267,980).

Job Description

This role involves working collaboratively as part of the Paediatric team to provide effective services for the Tairawhiti region. The paediatric service at Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti is a small, dynamic team looking to employ a suitably qualified Paediatrician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General and community paediatrics requiring skills in managing neonates, acutely unwell children, children with chronic disease and behavioural disorders.
  • Participate in an on-call roster including evenings and weekends.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful applicant will hold legitimate qualifications and registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. They must be registered as a Paediatrician on the vocational register or nearing completion of advanced training towards becoming a Registered Paediatrician.

Fellowship of RACP is also required. The candidate should be familiar with modern investigative and treatment techniques relevant to the specialty and capable of making informed decisions in a high-risk, rural environment.
