Our team of expert designers, engineers, installers, and technicians has been providing project management, design, construction & installation, refurbishment, and ongoing preventative maintenance and on-call services for over 20 years.

Job Details:

The BMS Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building automation systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform regular maintenance checks, identify system faults and troubleshoot issues to ensure the BMS operates efficiently and effectively.
  2. Monitor BMS to track system performance, identify anomalies, implement corrective actions and reduce operational costs.
  3. Offer system performance improvements to clients.
  4. Develop and modify BMS control strategies and configurations to optimize HVAC system performance.
  5. Set up and program controllers, sensors, actuators, and other system components.
  6. Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.
  7. Provide technical support and training to clients and maintenance staff on BMS operation and best practices.
  8. Integrate BMS with other building systems (e.g., fire alarm, security, lighting).
  9. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for BMS operations.
  10. Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in building automation systems, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager or BMS-specific certifications, an Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field are also required.
