Our team of expert designers, engineers, installers, and technicians has been providing project management, design, construction & installation, refurbishment, and ongoing preventative maintenance and on-call services for over 20 years.
Job Details:
The BMS Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building automation systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance checks, identify system faults and troubleshoot issues to ensure the BMS operates efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor BMS to track system performance, identify anomalies, implement corrective actions and reduce operational costs.
- Offer system performance improvements to clients.
- Develop and modify BMS control strategies and configurations to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Set up and program controllers, sensors, actuators, and other system components.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and maintenance staff on BMS operation and best practices.
- Integrate BMS with other building systems (e.g., fire alarm, security, lighting).
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for BMS operations.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in building automation systems, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager or BMS-specific certifications, an Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field are also required.
