We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced teacher to join our team at Hauraki Plains College. As a Lead Teacher of Humanities, you will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the success of our college.

This is a permanent position, commencing Term Three or earlier by negotiation. The start date is the 14th of July 2025.

About the Role

As a Lead Teacher of Humanities, you will be responsible for leading the Humanities department and developing curriculum programs that meet the needs of our students. You will work closely with teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.

You will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting teachers to improve their practice, developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote student achievement, and communicating effectively with parents and the wider community.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in teaching and leadership, with a focus on Humanities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proven track record of improving student outcomes
