Job Description
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting analyses and tasks related to the laboratory here at RENCO. The role involves assisting the factory in optimising product quality and production efficiency by performing rapid and accurate analyses, providing timely results, and ensuring accurate reporting and recording of all results and completion of other records as required.
The Laboratory Technician will report directly to the Plant Manager and have close working relationships with the Production Manager, Compliance Manager, and Process Operators.
The position entails:
  • Using specialized instrumentation and equipment
  • In-process and final product testing
  • Recording tests and analyses and reporting results
  • Discussing and answering any questions regarding results
  • Receiving, labeling, and safely storing samples to be tested
  • Weighing, diluting, and recording tests on all samples
  • Scheduling retention sample testing
  • Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment
  • Chemical and substrate preparation
  • Submitting to and liaising with external laboratories
  • Assisting with experimental/development work and all areas of quality improvement
  • Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report
