Disability Support Specialist

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Your key responsibilities will include providing individualized support, promoting independence, and encouraging participation in community activities. You will also be responsible for managing risk and maintaining safety, while building strong relationships with the people we support.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals. A calm and patient nature, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, is essential.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in practice.
