College Guidance Services Advisor

Pakuranga College is seeking a registered guidance counsellor to join its Guidance and Hauora Team. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting students, staff, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities- Counselling students from Year 9 to Year 13, building relationships with students, whānau, staff, and the community.
The guidance counsellor will identify, develop, and deliver appropriate hauora programmes, working alongside youth workers, health centre staff, whānau leaders, and senior leadership team members. They will also maintain accurate clinical records, engage with appropriate supervision, and support students and whānau through the discipline process.
Requirements- A qualification in counselling with registration from NZAC, DAPAANZ, or similar.
- Experience in risk assessment and using therapeutic models with students.
- Experience working across multiple external agencies and community groups.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, excellent administrative and communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
