About the Role
Our team at the New Zealand Government is seeking a skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our Data Analysis team. As a key member, you will work closely with business teams to deliver reports and analysis, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries to extract and manipulate large datasets
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
* Analyze complex data sets using database query and report writing tools
* Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements
* 1-2 years of experience in advanced SQL query writing
* Strong understanding of database concepts and query languages
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Advanced Excel
* Familiarity with Business Intelligence toolsets and methodologies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a small team environment

Bonus Points
* Experience working with R or other programming languages
* Knowledge of data modelling techniques
* Prior work experience as a data analyst in a government setting
