About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at WOFO.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients.

You will have the opportunity to work across various clinics, wards, emergency departments, and operating rooms, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing patient handling assistance as required, using correct lifting equipment and assisting with walking frames and other equipment.
  • Maintaining patient hygiene, comfort, and care, including assistance with patient sponging/showering/bathing, bed making, and preparing the room for admission.
  • Completing delegated tasks promptly without constant supervision.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety compliance by using equipment safely, reporting incidents, accidents, and near misses promptly, and following required policies and procedures, including infection control.
  • Restocking materials and completing cleaning duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).
  • Exceptional people skills with empathy and compassion for all patients.
  • A reasonable level of fitness due to the nature of the role, able to perform required duties, including lifting.
  • An excellent level of spoken and written English and numeracy.
  • Reliability and honesty with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to undertake police clearance (submitted on your behalf) and undergo a health screening.
