Job Description:

  • Data Analysis and Development: As a highly skilled Data Scientist, you will develop and optimize data processing pipelines for scientific analysis, leveraging Python for data wrangling, visualization, and machine learning applications.
  • System Administration: You will manage databases, ensuring proper clustering, replication, backup, and retention policies, as well as maintain and configure networking infrastructure and backend systems.
  • Infrastructure Management: Administer and troubleshoot UNIX/POSIX environments, including bash scripting, SSH, and Docker. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.
  • Containerized Applications: Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and Docker Compose. Work with Proxmox (preferred) for virtualization and system management.

Requirements:

  • System Administration Skills:
    • Strong database management experience, including SQL and cluster replication.
    • Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux, including bash scripting and SSH.
    • Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and container orchestration.
    • Familiarity with networking and back-end development.
  • Data Science Skills:
    • Expert proficiency in Python for data analysis, visualization, and development.
    • Strong knowledge of data wrangling, processing, and pipeline construction.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or similar.
  • Aptitude to learn and adapt quickly.
