We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Wellington Regional Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of duties related to pre-transfusion, antenatal, and diagnostic testing, as well as the issue of blood and blood products for clinical purposes.

As a key member of our blood bank team, you will work closely with other scientists to ensure that our services are delivered to the highest standard. You will also be expected to participate in our 24-hour, 7-day roster and contribute to patient care.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong commitment to patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Is experienced in transfusion science or a related discipline.
  • Has a strong understanding of laboratory medicine and its applications.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is self-motivated and has a positive attitude.

Previous experience working in a blood bank would be an advantage, but it is not essential. If you are a motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
