Chef for Early Learning Environments

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Tangram. As part of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals for our young tamariki.

The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking, baking, and creating culturally varied meals that meet the dietary needs of our children. A strong understanding of kitchen health and safety practices, as well as basic computer skills to design menus and place orders, are essential.

This is a permanent position, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a competitive salary package, as well as opportunities for professional development through our online learning platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals for our tamariki, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
  • Maintain high hygiene standards in the kitchen, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Manage food budgets effectively and make smart purchasing decisions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote healthy eating habits among our children
