Department Manager

A great opportunity for an experienced Department Manager to join Aman Cuba Street Limited in a full-time, permanent role. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for the overall management of your department, ensuring the highest standard of customer satisfaction and efficient store operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General organisation of your department
  • Undertake all duties of planning and organising the operations of the department
  • Effective and efficient day-to-day running of the store
  • Develop and maintain the staff rosters
  • Customer service management and quality maintenance
  • Complaints handling and response and public relation management
  • Arrange and lead staff meetings as required
  • Attending phone calls and responding to customer enquiries
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • Maintaining and enforcing store rules, policies, and all regulations
  • Manage stock levels to maximise sales and ensure no stock outs and determine the mixing of products for achieving the sales targets
  • Managing & reporting the accounts of the store as per the requirements
  • Promote the goods in the store by putting the specials on and undertaking required advertising of the items
  • Provide regular financial analysis of the store's performance with a view to maximise profitability and ensure efficiency of staff and resources
  • Manage received stock accurately and maintain stock records
  • Responsible for in-store merchandising such as layouts, promotion, and displays
  • Perform other duties as the Operations Manager or Director may request from time to time
Requirements:
  • A proven oral and written command of the English language is required
  • Some experience in a similar position for a supermarket
  • General Manager license required (if applying for liquor department role)
  • Applicants must have NZ Permanent Resident or NZ Citizen or valid NZ working visa
