We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Canterbury District Health Board.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality biochemical testing and reporting, as well as mentoring and training of biochemistry scientific staff. The role also involves validation and implementation of new tests, and participation in clinical governance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform biochemical testing and reporting
- Mentor and train biochemistry scientific staff
- Validate and implement new tests
- Participate in clinical governance activities
Requirements:
- Eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council
- An interest in lipid disorders is an advantage
- Experience with specialist testing is advantageous
- Specialist interest and test development encouraged
- Quality focus
- Interest in informatics
