Role Overview

This role is remote in US or Canada. As we build the foundation for Site Reliability Engineering, this person will play a critical role in shaping our infrastructure and operational excellence in addition to being a full backend software engineer.

Tech Stack

Leveraging battle-tested technologies such as Kubernetes, Postgres, and AWS, they will go beyond managing infrastructure to build tools that enable our engineers to create performant, scalable, and resilient applications. However, since we are a small team, we will expect them to be a fully functioning backend software engineer as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing scalable & maintainable API/Feature Development
  • API/SFTP Integrations
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres DB
  • Maintaining developer environments
  • Managing CI pipelines and runners
  • Setting up and managing alerting systems
  • Providing on-call support and guidance to other developers to triage issues

Candidate Requirements

2+ years of experience in DevOps

Professional experience with containers (Docker, etc) (5+ years required)

Professional experience with AWS (5+ years required)

Strong fundamental understanding and usage of a RDBMS (Postgres preferred)

In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Loki, DataDog, Sentry, etc)

Strong work ethic, end-to-end ownership mentality

Backend Python/Django experience
