Carpenter Position

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Friendship Builder Limited. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine specifications and requirements.
  • Prepare project work procedures, determine dimensions and materials needed, and plan the order and selection of timbers and other materials.
  • Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand or power tools.
  • Assemble and nail prepared parts to form framework or structures for constructing buildings or internal fittings.
  • Erect roof and window framing, build internal walls and partitions, make staircases, and layout sub-flooring/floorboards.
  • Build and install stairways, doors, and window boards, and fascia panels.
  • Remove and repair existing fittings, conduct renovation and maintenance services for wood structures.
  • Complete concrete formwork when required.
  • Work with plastic laminates and metal materials when required.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 months of work experience in the same industry or a NZ Level 4 qualification in Carpentry or equivalent qualifications/certificates.
  • Be a great team player, able to follow instructions, and be physically fit and willing to work hard.
  • Have a good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude.
