About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Market Regulation branch on a 9-month fixed-term position. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to plan and execute data initiatives within iterative frameworks, with strong data wrangling, analysis, and transformation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and share data analytics practices to manage and improve the integrity and usefulness of the branch's data.
  • Contribute to the development of the branch data strategy and data and analytics foundational initiatives consistent with the expectations of the Chief Data Officer.
  • Document and classify our data assets to increase transparency and availability for the Commission.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in agile/Kanban project delivery.
  • Strong skills in Python, R & SQL.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure or Snowflake, with dbt for transformations and tools like Docker, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory for orchestration.
  • Solid grasp of relational/non-relational databases, data lakes, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with Git/Azure DevOps, automated testing, and deployment strategies for robust data workflows.
  • Ability to create compelling dashboards (Power BI, Streamlit, ggplot) that drive informed decision-making.
