About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Nurse to join our team at the Northern Regional Alliance. As a key member of our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), you will provide extended nursing practice functions, including neonatal resuscitation and advanced airway management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care for newborns with complex needs, recommending and initiating treatment options in accordance with policy or clinical pathways.
- Lead by example, providing clinical leadership and role modeling best practice within the unit.
- Coordinate the SCBU's activities, ensuring seamless care delivery.
About the SCBU
The Northern Regional Alliance's 12-bed level 2 neonatal unit is a leading provider of specialized care for babies born as early as 32 weeks and weighing as little as 1500g. Our team is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment that supports both infants and their families.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
- Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in appropriate specialty practice papers (preferably neonatal nursing).
- Current NLS Certification.
- Recent Level 4 Neonatal experience is essential.
