We are seeking a skilled Senior Planner to join our team at Christchurch City Council. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for providing expert planning advice to customers and liaising with experts to provide recommendations on notified and non-notified applications.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex applications, providing pre-app advice, attending hearings, and taking appeals to the Environment Court.
  • Make robust decisions on resource consent applications and act as a mentor to less experienced planners.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve Council goals and objectives.

You Will Be Successful in This Role If You Have

  • A degree in urban/regional planning, resource management or similar.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the Resource Management Act, District Plans and the wider planning framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in the resource consent process.
