Santa Maria College is a vibrant and inclusive Catholic Girls' Secondary School, enriched by the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, catering for over 800 students from Year 7–12.

As an Authorised International Baccalaureate global school, Santa Maria College offers the Middle Years Program (Year 7–10) as part of their contemporary approach to learning.

The College promotes the safety, wellbeing, protection and inclusion of all children and young people, with a commitment to educate young women now and into the future.

In response to a Leave cover, we have a Drama/Dance load available teaching 2 X Y7 Dance, 2 X Y8 Drama and 2X Y9 Dance classes with Thursdays off.

About This Role
  • Teaching Method Listed: Our ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of effective teaching methods.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
  • Developmental Needs: A strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents and emerging young adults is required.
  • ICT Proficiency: Proficient in the use of ICT for communication and record keeping.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Organisation and Administrative Skills: Organisation and administrative skills appropriate for planning and preparation are necessary.
  • VIT Certification: VIT certification is a requirement.
  • Relational Management: A commitment to supporting the College's relational management and restorative practices is expected.
  • Maintain a Positive Environment: Able to maintain a positive environment which is respectful of all present and fosters student learning and motivation.
  • Professional Development: Willingness to participate in the College's professional development activities in and out of school hours.
  • Extra-Curricular Programs: Open to participating in the College's extra-curricular and co-curricular programs as required.
  • Mandatory Reporting: Experience with Mandatory Reporting and knowledge of Child Safety expectations and standards is necessary.
