Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to support our team in designing, testing, and implementing electrical installations and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Layout: Collaborate with Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in designing and laying out electrical installations, including substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data, perform complex calculations, and graph results to support electrical design and testing processes.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate materials costs and quantities required for electrical projects, and assist in preparing budgets and project cost analyses.
  • Inspection and Compliance: Inspect designs and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations, and ensure all electrical installations conform to industry standards and safety requirements.
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify, and repair electrical equipment and installations, ensuring all work is performed according to regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Workshop Functions: Perform electrical workshop functions, including installing assemblies for protection relays, metering, and indicating devices, and assist in setting up and maintaining electrical workshops.
  • Research and Experimentation: Assist with research and experimentation programs to develop new electrical technologies and solutions, and conduct tests on electrical systems and prepare reports on findings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or similar role.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and circuitry.
  • Excellent data analysis and complex calculation skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards for electrical installations.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
