Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Sonography Clinical Educator to join our team at Waitemata District. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in educating and training future sonographers, helping them develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for success in their careers.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:


  • Co-ordinating the training programme for sonography in partnership with Auckland University or other training institutions;
  • Providing expert guidance and instruction to students in areas of general, obstetric, gynaecologic, paediatric and vascular sonography;
  • Assessing and evaluating students' clinical skills and performance, providing constructive feedback and helping set goals throughout their training;
  • Ensuring students are exposed to the appropriate examinations to gain the experience and required examination numbers for their logbooks;
  • Facilitating quality control and maintenance of standards within the ultrasound department.


Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board and current practicing license;
  • A post-graduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound or recognised equivalent;
  • Enrolled in a recognised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program;
  • Competent in all aspects of general ultrasound including obstetrics, abdominal and small parts;
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Educator or supervisor.
