Aurecon's Energy & Industrial team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Solar Specialist to join our Power Generation team in Aotearoa.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy systems and a passion for renewable energy technologies. The role will include technical leadership of Aurecon's pipeline of solar projects, providing support to our clients in our roles as Owner's Engineer, Lender's Technical Advisor as well as undertaking technical due diligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective strategies for conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the suitability of locations for solar installations.

  2. Lead the development of concept designs and feasibility studies, undertake technical analyses and design reviews as well as develop technical specifications and support in key contract procurement.

  3. Skillfully review technical design documentation and procurement specifications and provide comments and advice to our clients including equipment selection and performance considerations.

  4. Play a key role in the procurement of key contractors, including the development of technical specifications and other tender documentation for key contract packages, evaluation of tender returns and support in contract negotiation.

  5. Ensure designs comply with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards. Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare necessary documentation for permits.

  6. Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar power systems, coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

  7. Prepare cost estimates including equipment prices, construction costs and operating costs.

  8. Advise clients on the best renewable energy solutions to meet their energy needs and sustainability goals, providing training and education on the operation and maintenance of solar systems.

  9. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for operational solar systems, including performance monitoring and advice on maintenance and asset management.

  10. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in solar technology and integrate new innovations and best practices into project designs.
