Student Support and Development

The successful candidate will work closely with students to provide psychological support and counseling, focusing on mental and emotional well-being and essential life skills. This will involve developing and implementing individualized plans to support students' academic and personal growth.

Collaboration with Educational Staff

The successful candidate will collaborate with educational staff to integrate mental health practices within the student support framework. This will involve working closely with teachers and other educational professionals to develop and implement mental health initiatives that meet the unique needs of our students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of clinical experience.
  • A post-graduate diploma in psychology (clinical or equivalent).
  • Registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board within a relevant scope of practice.
  • A current practicing certificate.
  • No previous or current complaints under the HPDT.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong understanding of psychological theories, trauma-informed care, and counseling techniques relevant to students.
  • Knowledge of the unique needs and challenges of the student population, including Indigenous perspectives and multicultural diversity.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
