The Role

As Finance Partnering Lead, you will lead the Finance Partnering team, delivering high-quality financial support, analysis, and recommendations to drive effective commercial, strategic, and operational decisions within the business.

You will oversee the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for your Business Unit, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and various project stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that align with EGL's short- and long-term financial objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate month-end and year-end results, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
  • Project Financial Management: Drive effective management of project finances by maintaining accurate project data in the system.
  • Oversee monthly project profit and loss statements, forecast completion, and conduct cost tracking and margin analysis to identify and explain variances.
  • Present monthly results in a clear format to support commercial outcomes.
  • Revenue Optimization and Financial Controls: Identify opportunities for additional invoicing and cost variance claims, ensuring project purchase orders and invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Collaborate across internal and external teams to advance finance tasks and uphold strong record-keeping and internal controls.
  • Leadership: Lead a highly effective team, focused on achieving excellence across the function and providing growth opportunities for individuals.
  • Coaching and developing teams to achieve their full potential.
  • Fostering a positive work environment, driving employee growth, and enhancing overall team performance.
  • Strategic Partnering: Act as a key partner to the Senior Leadership and Project teams, fostering transparency, focus, and strategic direction in business performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, keeping stakeholders informed of changes in projections.
  • Financial Modelling and Analysis: Develop and manage financial models, performing costing, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to shape commercial strategies and generate performance insights.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualified, Construction and Telco industry experience preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading a planning or commercial finance function.
  • Data Modelling: Strong financial and data modelling skills, cost management experience, and knowledge of key business drivers.
  • Business Partnering: Experience presenting to business leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Financial Management: Experience of budgeting and forecasting, financial and project management in a large complex environment.
  • Strong use of dashboarding, KPI driver-based reporting to lift performance.
