Introduction:

MERcury NZ Limited is seeking a highly skilled Production Technician to join our Hydro South team based in Taupo. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, operating, managing, and continuously improving Mercury's Hydro generation assets.

Responsibilities:

The Production Technician will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating safe operation and maintenance of site assets through operational activities (shut down, restoration and isolation of plant)
  • Managing work control documents, conducting station rounds and conducting plant maintenance (planning, supervising and executing)
  • Providing support outside of primary sites when required

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade or engineering qualification (Electrical/mechanical or equivalent) preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in heavy industry, with Electricity Generation Industry experience preferred
  • A passion for Renewable Geothermal Energy
  • Excellent organisational skills coupled with confident communication
  • The ability to lead and direct groups of people
