Rocket Lab USA is a pioneer in launch and space systems, leading the way in reliable access to orbit since 2018. Our Electron rocket has become one of the most frequently launched rockets in the world, providing critical support for scientific exploration, Earth observation, and missions to combat climate change.

As a key member of our Manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in building and assembling the components of our rockets, including pressurised tanks, structural assemblies, propellent filters, and payload hardware. You will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of surface coating required during production, ensuring that our high standards of quality are met.

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification in a relevant industry and at least 4 years of experience in a similar role. They will possess precision application skills of paint systems and tooling systems, as well as basic hand tool skills. The ability to interpret and apply assembly drawings, repair damaged or faulty composite items, and perform measurements and calculations used in a marine or composite workplace will also be essential.

We're looking for someone who can work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate a high work ethic, and take on additional responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must, as is the ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings.

  • **Key Responsibilities:**
  • Accurately measure, mark, and trim components using drawings and work instructions
  • Prepare and coat internal and external surfaces of the vehicle to designed specification
  • Paint components on and inside the launch vehicle, working in confined spaces while wearing necessary safety PPE
