About the Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer with Kirk Roberts Consulting Engineers Ltd, you will work on a range of projects and enjoy the technical challenges and problem-solving involved in producing the latest technical designs and analysis. This is a varied role which will see you developing and maintaining client relationships, preparing concept, preliminary, and detailed designs, project administration, and management.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assist with project design through coordination with the team to ensure efficient and effective delivery to our clients.
  • Independently manage medium-sized projects.
  • Liaise with Senior Engineers to finalize design criteria.
  • Evaluate design solutions against the design brief.
  • Prepare proposals and monitor progress through to delivery and invoicing.
  • Liaise with clients, internal teams, and contractors.
  • Prepare specifications and associated design documentation.
  • Independently undertake construction monitoring.

About You
  • You should be qualified with a BEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • You should have 4-6 years+ experience in New Zealand, with proven seismic experience to NZ codes and strong technical knowledge.
  • You are working towards your chartership.
  • You have experience in managing the delivery of structural engineering projects.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and local councils as well as lead and contribute to project delivery.
  • You are solution-focused, a good problem solver.
  • You are adaptable with a keen eye for detail, excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people.
