Main Responsibilities:
- Providing technical advice on development proposals to ensure best practices and minimize risk to the community and Council.
- Assessing subdivision and development engineering applications for compliance with Council standards, best practices, and consent conditions.
- Managing workflows to meet statutory timeframes and complete delegated tasks from the Manager of Resource Management Engineering.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks during the resource consent and design process, ensuring alignment with Council policies and legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related discipline (and be eligible for professional membership).
- Knowledge of 3 waters reticulation systems, roading, and land management.
- Sound knowledge of the RMA, Local Government Act, and knowledge of related legislation desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of NZS 4404:2010 Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure.
- Previous experience working in a New Zealand Territorial/Consent Authority desirable but not essential.
