Job Overview:

  • Senior Asset Engineer: Focus on ensuring best practice and innovation in asset management for Transportation Technology, Tunnel assets, and roading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Forward Works Programmes and budgets, including 3-year, 10-year, and 30-year Asset Management Plans.
  • Manage Asset Management Plans, Life Cycle Asset Management Plans, asset renewals schedules, and related risks.
  • Develop Asset Improvement Plans, manage asset maturity initiatives, and ensure accurate asset data in CMMS (MEX).
  • Maintain as-built drawings, asset manuals, and records; monitor asset performance and service levels.
  • Develop Scopes of Works, Designs, and Specifications for renewals and maintenance; manage specialist professional services.
  • Ensure compliance with NZTA Standards, review renewed/replacement assets, and input into monthly and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Tunnels team and other Asset Managers; review delivery and testing plans and monitor financial outcomes.
  • Engage with NZTA Digital and Platform teams, represent Asset Management in forums, and handle delegated roles under NZTA Policy S8.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Full NZ Driver's License.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • General knowledge of tunnels, electronic, or mechanical assets, and Asset Management principles.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in office software and systems (AWM, CMMS, etc.).
  • Experience with Safety and Quality Management systems and Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders.
