The Alliance works closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system.
Job Overview:
- Senior Asset Engineer: Focus on ensuring best practice and innovation in asset management for Transportation Technology, Tunnel assets, and roading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Forward Works Programmes and budgets, including 3-year, 10-year, and 30-year Asset Management Plans.
- Manage Asset Management Plans, Life Cycle Asset Management Plans, asset renewals schedules, and related risks.
- Develop Asset Improvement Plans, manage asset maturity initiatives, and ensure accurate asset data in CMMS (MEX).
- Maintain as-built drawings, asset manuals, and records; monitor asset performance and service levels.
- Develop Scopes of Works, Designs, and Specifications for renewals and maintenance; manage specialist professional services.
- Ensure compliance with NZTA Standards, review renewed/replacement assets, and input into monthly and financial reporting.
- Coordinate with the Tunnels team and other Asset Managers; review delivery and testing plans and monitor financial outcomes.
- Engage with NZTA Digital and Platform teams, represent Asset Management in forums, and handle delegated roles under NZTA Policy S8.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Full NZ Driver's License.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- General knowledge of tunnels, electronic, or mechanical assets, and Asset Management principles.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficient in office software and systems (AWM, CMMS, etc.).
- Experience with Safety and Quality Management systems and Quality Assurance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders.
