The role of the Senior Analyst/Principal Advisor is a critical position within the National Infrastructure Unit, responsible for delivering a modernised suite of Government PPP policies and providing ongoing support for Treasury advice and Ministerial decision-making in respect to the planning, procurement and implementation of PPP transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the New Zealand infrastructure landscape, including specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in relevant infrastructure sectors.
  • Helping to lead the development and implementation of the Government's suite of policies relating to PPPs, enabling agencies and key stakeholders to easily access and understand the Government's PPP policies and frameworks.
  • Providing high quality analysis and advice on significant infrastructure investments to Ministers and other stakeholders, including Agencies and Departments considering or engaged in PPP transactions.

This role requires an experienced infrastructure professional with a successful record of advising on sizeable market transactions, coupled with a background in commercial or advisory roles across either the public or private sector, with an understanding of the New Zealand public sector context preferred.

Requirements
  • Specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in relevant infrastructure sectors, with direct experience in Public-Private Partnerships highly advantageous.
  • High level of numeracy and understanding of corporate finance theory and practice.
  • Experience in the preparation of major business cases and strategic plans, with strong communication and influencing skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
